 Gaura

Gaura lindheimeri is a white-flowering perennial that mimics whirling butterflies and reaches a height of 42 inches and a width of 36 inches. It carries wands of starry white flowers on slender stems waving in the breeze above compact foliage.

The tender four-petal flowers have conspicuous stamens. The blossoms open a few at a time in the morning and last only a slight time, but new flowers open throughout the summer into late autumn.

The stems are thin and wiry and the leaves are lance shaped.

Gaura lindheimeri is native to North America and belongs to the Onagraceae family.
